Japan - Tokyo & Kyoto
SUMMARY
En Route to experience Japan through the eyes of Malia on her very own hosted brand trip. Join us for a 7-day, 6-night journey through Tokyo and Kyoto, where vibrant city energy, rich cultural traditions, unforgettable food, beauty, fashion, and meaningful connections come together for an experience designed to be shared.
From the moment you arrive in Tokyo, the week begins with a private group transfer to the hotel, time to settle in, and a welcome dinner where everyone can finally meet, connect, and get excited for the days ahead. Throughout the trip, travelers will also receive thoughtfully curated beauty goodies, bringing an extra touch of Malia’s world into the experience.
Our first days in Tokyo will be all about discovering the city through its food, history, and iconic neighborhoods. We’ll explore Tsukiji Fish Market, sampling Japanese favorites like fresh sashimi, tamagoyaki, ramen, mochi, and more before visiting the peaceful grounds of Meiji Shrine and learning about traditional Shinto customs. With free time built into the itinerary, there will also be plenty of opportunities to shop, explore cafés, discover beauty finds, and experience Tokyo at your own pace.
The following day brings one of the most interactive experiences of the trip: a hands-on sushi-making class with a local chef, followed by lunch featuring your own creations. From there, we’ll step into historic Tokyo with a visit to Asakusa and Sensō-ji, the city’s oldest temple, before ending the day with sunset views from Tokyo Tower as the city lights begin to glow.
Midway through the journey, we’ll trade Tokyo’s fast-paced energy for the timeless beauty of Kyoto, traveling aboard Japan’s famous Shinkansen bullet train. Once we arrive, the day is yours to settle in and explore, whether that means wandering through Nishiki Market, visiting Fushimi Inari, discovering hidden cafés, shopping, or simply enjoying Kyoto’s slower rhythm.
We’ll then escape the city for a day trip to Nara, where free-roaming deer wander through beautiful park grounds and centuries-old temples. Visit the impressive Tōdai-ji Temple and its Great Buddha, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, and take in the peaceful scenery before returning to Kyoto later in the day.
One of the most special moments of the trip comes during our kimono and traditional tea ceremony experience. Travelers will choose their own kimono, with optional hairstyling, before exploring the historic streets of Higashiyama and capturing beautiful photos along the way. During the tea ceremony, you’ll learn how to prepare matcha while being introduced to Japanese tea etiquette, customs, and the quiet ritual behind one of Japan’s most treasured traditions.
As the week comes to an end, we’ll gather for a farewell dinner to celebrate everything we experienced together — the food we tried, the places we explored, the photos we captured, and the friendships formed along the way. The following morning, group transportation will take everyone to Kansai International Airport for departure.
The specific hotels (4-star or 5-star hotel accomodations), restaurants, and reservations times, will be confirmed as your trip date approaches.
